Question: What happens to the wood after the Show?
Answer: It gets recycled.

Question: How do I enter Woodchopping at the Sydney Royal Easter Show?
Answer: You can access the Schedule and entry form on this website or by emailing the Coordinator at woodchop@rasnsw.com.au.

Question: Do I have to qualify to enter Woodchopping at Sydney Royal?
Answer: No, but you must be a registered member of an Axemen's Association.

Question: When can I see David Foster competing?
Answer: His event times will be confirmed 2 weeks prior to the Sydney Royal Easter Show.  Please contact the coordinator for these details.

Question: Will there be Woodchopping in the Main Arena?
Answer: Yes, in 2009 there will be woodchopping in the NAB Arena. Dates and times are still to be confirmed.

Question: How do I know when events are on?
Answer: A competition timetable will be on this website at the beginning of March.

Question: When is there Woodchopping at the Sydney Royal Easter Show?
Answer: Woodchopping will be on each day from 9 April to 19 April with a variety of events each day.

Question: Can I reserve seating?
Answer: Unfortunately there isn't an opportunity to reserve seating, so patrons are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before their favourite event.

Question: What is an Underhand Competition?
Answer: In this Competition the log is placed horizontally and the competitor stands on it and cuts between their feet.

Question: What is a Standing Block Competition?
Answer: In this Competition the log is held vertically and the competitor chops from both sides until the log is severed.

Question: What is a Treefelling Competition?
Answer: In this Competition the competitor uses 3 boards to climb one side of the pole and cut half the log, they then descend to the ground and use the 3 boards to climb the other side and finishing severing the log.

Question: What is a Single Handed Sawing Competition?
Answer: In this Competition ONE competitor uses a cross out saw to slice a ring off a log. (They hold the saw with both hands)

Question: What is a Double Handed Sawing Competition?
Answer: In this competition TWO competitors, one on each end of the saw, slice a ring off a log. (They both use 2 hands on the saw)

Question: What is a Handicap Event?
Answer: In this Competition all competitors start off on a different count, for example someone starts on 3 and another on 5 etc.  This gives every competitor a chance to win. (Similar to Golf Handicapping).

Question: What is a Championship Event?
Answer: In this Competition all competitors start chopping on the count of 3.

Question: What is a Jack & Jill event?
Answer: One male & one female compete as a team in the event.
