To win a Sydney Royal award is a significant honour and a part of the history of Australian agricultural. Many of the perpetual trophies have a longstanding association with the Show and carry with them the tradition and prestige of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS).
Perpetual Trophies are the RAS’ most esteemed award. These trophies not only recognise excellence and achievement in agricultural competition but also the contributions of people and organisations long associated with the RAS.
The range of trophies and awards presented by the Sydney Royal includes the following:
Perpetual Trophies – The RAS’ most prestigious award, a Perpetual Trophy, is recognition of an outstanding contribution to that Competition. Each trophy has been donated by an individual or organisation with a significant connection to the Show or the Competition. Awarded annually in the donor’s name, a Perpetual trophy is a symbol not only of achievement but also of tradition. The winner takes home a memento of the award and their name is engraved on the trophy. The trophy remains with the RAS as part of its trophy collection. Perpetual Trophies come in all shapes and forms, including art works and animated statues.

Annual Prize or Trophy – These prizes are donated by supporters on an annual basis and come in a variety of forms such as money or trophies. Supporters usually have a connection to the Section or the particular class.
